With the Detroit Pistons looking like one of the biggest sellers as we approach the trade deadline, one of the most significant names that has popped up on the trade market is Pistons All-Star big man Andre Drummond. However, as reported by James L. Edwards III for The Athletic, another player that appears to be on Detroit's trading block is 23-year-old shooting guard Luke Kennard.

This is where things get spicy. Before knee tendinitis sidelined him, Kennard was averaging a career-high 15.8 points and 4.1 assists while shooting 39.9 percent from 3 on a decent number of attempts. He has been considered part of the Pistons’ future. Yet a source said Kennard, who is guaranteed $5.2 million next season, has been made available in trade discussions.

Kennard has been out of commission since before Christmas, and at this point, his return date is still clouded with uncertainty. Knee injuries can be tricky, and it appears that the 6-foot-5 guard is dealing with a lingering problem that is taking longer than expected to recover from.

As mentioned above, though, Kennard is/was considered as one of the building blocks of the Pistons squad. Detroit selected him 12th overall back in 2017, and since then, the former Duke standout has shown the potential to be a strong driving force for the team in years to come.

However, with the Pistsons now looking to blow their roster up, it seems that not a single person on the lineup is untouchable. At this point, it would not be surprising at all if Kennard ends dawning a different uniform once he is finally able to return from his injury.
