Detroit Pistons big man Blake Griffin and guard Derrick Rose will be available for their team's game against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night, according to James Edwards III of The Athletic.

Griffin made his season debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves this past Monday, finishing with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists over 24 minutes in a six-point loss.

However, he did not play during the Pistons' loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday, as it was the second night of a back-to-back.

The 30-year-old underwent knee surgery during the offseason to repair an issue that plagued him at the end of the 2018-19 campaign, so Detroit is being understandably cautious with him.

Griffin is now in his second full season with the Pistons after coming over in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers midway through 2017-18. He played in 75 games last year, marking the first time he appeared in 70 contests since 2013-14.

Meanwhile, Rose has been dealing with hamstring issues and has missed five of the last six games as a result.

In the seven contests he has played this season, Rose is averaging 18.7 points, 6.1 assists and 1.1 steals across 24.3 minutes a night while making 52.0 percent of his field goal attempts, 16.7 percent of his 3-point tries and 88.9 percent of his free throws.

Detroit signed Rose over the summer with the hope that he would bring some scoring punch to a bench that desperately needed it, and when he has been healthy this season, he has done just that, and on a fairly efficient clip, at that.

The Pistons are just 4-8 thus far.
