PSG have been handed a major boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City on Tuesday. Per AP Sports, Lionel Messi has recovered from his knee injury and will be available to feature against the Premier League giants and his former boss at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola.

PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino didn't reveal if Messi will start in this fixture, but he did make it clear that the Argentine is fit to play. The Barca legend was substituted off last weekend against Lyon and appeared to snub Pochettino's handshake. But, it was later revealed that he did suffer a knock to his knee, which ultimately kept him out of training and forced him to miss PSG's last two games versus Metz and most recently, Montpellier on Saturday.

Messi has struggled to really find his former at the Parc des Princes thus far, failing to score or supply an assist. However, there is little doubt that he will start to be more of a key figure in the final third for the Parisians. After all, this is only his second club after 20 years at Camp Nou.

There was some concern previously that his injury could be more serious than initially thought, but thankfully, it doesn't look like this will be the case. There will be a sense of revenge in the air for PSG after Man City knocked them out of the 2020 Champions League semifinals. These two sides are certainly the favorites to go through from Group A and Tuesday will surely be a mouth-watering clash.
