One of the most vibrant frontlines in Europe finally took the pitch together on Wednesday but needless to say, it was rather disappointing. PSG trio Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe struggled to create any serious havoc against Belgian standouts Club Brugge, who played to a 1-1 draw with the French giants.

Paris boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke out on the performance post-match and specifically addressed the lack of productivity from his attack. Via Goal:

“We need time to work for them to build an understanding. That’s been clear and we’ve said that in recent days. We still have to create a team.”

The PSG tactician also made it clear that his squad was far from good enough on both ends of the pitch:

“We weren't strong enough in a Champions League match. We are not happy with the result and the performance, we know we have to do better.

“We have a magnificent group of players, we now have to find a defensive and offensive organisation. We need time.”

To be frank, Brugge outplayed PSG at times. They were extremely sound defensively and just looked like they had more of a will to win. Aside from banging the crossbar with a beautiful hit, Messi was rather non-existent on Wednesday as well. Neymar lost the ball numerous times, while Mbappe's lone assist was about the only bright spot for him.

There are extremely high expectations for PSG this season with the quality they possess within their team. The Parisians will need to find chemistry sooner rather than later. It won't get any easier this weekend either as the club takes on Lyon in Ligue 1 action.
