Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby was expecting something a little bit higher entering his second season in the NFL from EA Sports flagship video-game series Madden 21.
Crosby, 22, called his 77 overall rating in the next release of the football franchise “garbage.”
Per Levi Damien in Raiders Wire:
Crosby is using his perceived lower-than-expected Madden rating as one motivating force entering the 2020 NFL season. The Eastern Michigan product was taken by the Raiders with the 106th overall pick in the 2019 draft and appeared in every game during his rookie season, logging 47 combined tackles, four forced fumbles, 16 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks—an impressive figure for a first-year defensive end.
On the same issue, though, Crosby gave a nod to Raiders teammate Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas' first-round pick from the same draft class, who received an 88 overall rating.
The Raiders plan on having Crosby and Jacobs as two centerpieces of the franchise on the two sides of the ball. If a perceived slight only motivates the defensive end more, then the newly relocated AFC West franchise can only appreciate the ferocity that comes next.
