Jon Gruden has quit as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders after leaked emails showed homophobic, sexist, and racial comments. Well, it appears that it really affected Carl Nassib, the only openly gay player in the NFL. Per Steve Wyche of The NFL Network, Nassib has taken a personal day to process everything:

This certainly stands to reason and it's good to know the Raiders support him. As Wyche noted, he didn't specify that it was about Gruden, but all signs point to it. Nassib came out this past summer on a social media post and received an outpour of support from across the sports world for his courageousness.

As for Gruden, it was revealed that he made homophobic remarks about current commissioner Roger Goodell. Clearly, this doesn't sit well with Nassib. Gruden's career as a coach could very well be done after the whole saga. Players and coaches across the league have all voiced how disturbing the situation is. While the Raiders players did initially support their coach, things likely changed when the most recent emails leaked.

Las Vegas will face the Denver Broncos this weekend as they head into a new era without Jon Gruden at the helm, who was in charge since 2018.
