There was plenty of speculation in the lead-up to the 2019 NFL Draft that the Oakland Raiders could take a quarterback with the fourth overall pick, but they ended up selecting Clemson defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr never had any doubt that Oakland was committed to him moving forward, and he made that clear with a resounding statement on Tuesday:

“The owner, head coach, GM and quarterback are all on the same page,” said Carr, according to Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area. “This is my team and I’m not going anywhere.”

Carr is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he threw for 4,049 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 68.9 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 93.9.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Fresno State, was originally selected by Oakland in the second round (36th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He immediately became the Raiders' starting signal-caller in his first season, and by his second year, Carr was already a Pro Bowler after throwing for 3,987 yards, 32 touchdowns and 13 picks while completing 61.1 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 91.1.

Carr went on to make three straight Pro Bowls overall, including the 2016 campaign in which Carr was an MVP candidate as a result of finishing with 3,937 yards, 28 touchdowns and just six interceptions, completing 63.8 percent of his passes and recording a 96.7 passer rating.

However, the last couple of years, Carr has had his fair share of struggles, but in his defense, the Raiders have been an unmitigated disaster as a whole.

Oakland won just four games this past season.
