Say what you will about the Derek Carr from a football perspective, but the man is the heart and soul of the Las Vegas Raiders team.

With new decision-makers entering the fold in head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, the Raiders QB is fully embracing the change.

Speaking on his developing relationship with the new coach and GM, Derek Carr was nothing but effusive. In fact, he's already looking towards taking things to the next level. No need for formalities with DC.

“They’ve been super awesome. They’ve been great,” Carr said of his new Raiders bosses “I’m just looking forward to getting to know them. We’re doing the whole business relationship thing, but hopefully, we can get our families together and start getting to know each other and start building that unity that we had last year.”

There's a lot riding on this season for Derek Carr to make things work. With just one season left in his contract, it could be make or break in terms of his future in Las Vegas. If all goes well, the two sides could potentially iron out an extension to keep him on as the Raiders' long-term signal-caller.

“Obviously, that’s in mind when I’m thinking about all that,” Carr said. “But there’s also some football players that I want to play with, so I keep that in mind too.”

Derek Carr is ready to get cooking as the Raiders look to bounce back from an early playoff exit last season.
