Superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown had an eventful 2019. Part of that was his stint on the Las Vegas Raiders. A stint that didn't even see him play a regular season game for them.

With that in mind, Brown gained a reputation this past year. It wasn't a good one either.

After forcing his way out of the Pittsburgh Steelers' franchise, he did the same to the Raiders. Then he was dropped by the New England Patriots not long after that.

Finally, Brown was taking to social media to bash players, teams and the league. Everyone really.

So when you see that an ex-teammate in Las Vegas has some opinions on him, you might not think they'll be good ones.

However, Clelin Ferrell had a somewhat surprising take on Brown.

“I was just kind of thrown off by it,” Ferrell said on ESPN’s First Take. “Obviously, you see the stuff in the media but when Antonio was in the locker room, he was the chillest dude. I had never really seen that side of either of them, so I was just kind of caught off guard, and was like, ‘Woah! What’s going on here?’ They had a really good relationship. Obviously, the three of them — Antonio, Mike and coach Gruden — they always had a good relationship. I was just kind of caught off guard, but grown men gonna be grown men and have disputes sometimes.”

Ferrell was a rookie last season, and has a lot of promise. He's someone the Raiders will definitely want to keep around. And could be the kind of young player that fans would say they don't want Brown to influence.

It looks like Ferrell doesn't see it that way though. According to him, Brown was “the chillest dude.”

That heavily contradicts the antics everyone saw this past year. It also shows that maybe that wasn't the real Brown. Maybe he was simply going through some things and in the locker room he's a much more down-to-earth type of guy.

Ferrell's stamp of approval very well could help Brown get another job in the NFL though. He's still one of the very best in the league at wide receiver. Can teams overlook the other risks?
