Las Vegas Raiders edge-rusher Maxx Crosby is excited to see how the AFC West Division plays out this season.

Crosby noted the Raiders were actually in the divisional race before stumbling to a 2-4 finish last year. He also said each team will bring a different style to the table, which could make for quite a bit of parity (via Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star):

“Last year it was kind of back and forth,” Crosby said. “We were 6-4, we were (nearly) tied with the Chiefs and we were like, ‘All right, we’re going to make a serious run at this.’ We obviously didn’t finish the way we wanted to.

“Now, everyone’s in the mix. Obviously every team is going to look a lot different. It’s gonna be awesome. It’s super exciting. It’s going to be great competition. I’m looking forward to it.”

The Raiders are hoping their additions on the defensive side of the ball will translate to more wins. Las Vegas finished 31st in defensive DVOA last year, per Football Outsiders.

However, Mike Mayock spent quite a bit on improving the linebacking corps, signing former Los Angeles Rams star Cory Littleton and former Chicago Bears inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski.

Las Vegas figures to stay in the playoff hunt if the defense improves, which could make things interesting in the AFC West.

The Denver Broncos should be in the mix after trading for A.J. Bouye and Jurrell Casey and also loading up on offensive talent. In fact, the Los Angeles Chargers could sneak into contention if they get solid quarterback play out of Tyrod Taylor, given the talent they have on defense.

But of course, all three teams will be gunning for the defending Super Bowl champions in Kansas City.
