Disgruntled Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay is likely on his way out, and Las Vegas Raiders rookie Trayvon Mullen is doing his best to try and recruit him.

Slay and Mullen shared a back and forth on Twitter regarding Slay's profile header which features the three-time Pro Bowler wearing a Kobe Bryant jersey at the old Oakland Coliseum.

Slay's disgruntled attitude with the Lions organization hit an all-time high on Wednesday when the team signed former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant. Slay once again took to Twitter and welcomed Trufant to the team, adding that he hopes that the signing “speeds up my trade process”

Last month, it was reported that Detroit has spoken to “multiple teams” across the league about a potential trade for the Pro Bowl cornerback. The belief among other clubs, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, is that Slay will be traded this offseason.

Darius Slay is  about to enter the final year of the four-year, $48.15 million extension he signed with the Lions back in 2016. He is slated to become an unrestricted free agent in 2021. With that said, it will be quite interesting to see Slay play with Mullen and the Raiders to form an exciting and explosive cornerback tandem for Vegas.

Slay, a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2017, started 14 games last season recording 46 tackles, 13 passes defended and two interceptions for a Lions pass defense that ranked dead last in the NFL in terms of passing yards allowed per game.

As for Trayvon Mullen, the 2019 second-round pick out of Clemson was able to make an impact in his first year for the Raiders. The 6-foot-2 defensive back recorded 50 tackles, 10 passes defended and one interception for a team that missed the playoffs for the third-straight season.
