Tuesday night turned out to be a historic one for the Chicago Bulls. They became the second eighth seeded team to lead 2-0 against a conference's top seed, and were able to extend their winning streak to 21 for games televised on TNT.

The team's starting point guard, Rajon Rondo, also had a very strong performance by finishing the match with 11 points, nine rebounds, 14 assists, and five steals. With that impressive stat line, the 31-year-old Kentucky product made history by becoming the first Bulls player in 30 seasons to record at least 10 assists and five steals in a playoff game. He now joins Michael Jordan as the only other Bull who has achieved the feat.

More importantly for Rondo, he has proven to head coach Fred Hoiberg that he should be the undisputed starter for the team, especially with his playoff and championship experience. He has elevated his game to a higher level in the past two outings, making it possible for the Bulls to dominate the Celtics.

With the series heading to Chicago, Rondo's team is in a good position to win the series, and may even sweep their opponents if they protect their home court. That would definitely be a record and will send a strong message to the rest of the competition that the Bulls will be very difficult to beat. If the 6-foot-1 point guard will continue his stellar play of late, it will be a huge boost to the team and will make their quest of upsetting the Celtics, easier to achieve.
