Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is slated to enjoy quite a homecoming in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It seems even he cannot help but contain his excitement.

Long before Donald had become the most dominant defensive player in the NFL, the Pittsburgh native was a local superstar through and through. He admits he is looking forward to making his return against the team he grew up rooting for, via Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

“To be back trying to play the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team I grew up watching and cheering for and playing at a field I played at in college,” Donald said, “is definitely going to be cool.”

Donald's comments are certainly understandable considering this is the first time in his illustrious career that he will be facing off against the Steelers in his hometown. Even head coach Mike Tomlin has acknowledged that the fans at Heinz Field are likely going to be just as happy to see him there.

Although Donald has become a household name in Los Angeles, he has made sure to keep close ties to Pittsburgh. It is still where he does all his training in the offseason and he recently made a seven-figure donation to his alma mater at Pitt. As a result, his presence in the community remains as strong as ever.

While Donald may be doing what he can to treat this like any other game, it is safe to say that there is a little extra motivation to put on a good performance in front of some familiar fans.
