Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald won his third Defensive Player of the Year Award on Saturday.

As impressive as that may be, Aaron Donald has his sights set on a bigger prize: the Vince Lombardi trophy.

“It’s a blessing,” Aaron Donald told reporters on Sunday about winning the award, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com. “I always say the same stuff, you know — anytime you’re rewarded for the body of work you put in and people notice that, you’ll be happy about that. You’re accomplishing great things building to a legacy, but never satisfied. I know I still got a lot of work to do, a lot of room for improvement. The ultimate goal is to be holding that trophy up. That’s what we’re chasing, that’s what I’m chasing, that’s what I want to accomplish. And I until I accomplish that, I ain’t going to be satisfied.”

In fact, Aaron Donald didn't seem particularly interested in the showdown between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs.

“If ain't me playing in there and my team, I don't really care too much about it,” he added.

The Rams came up short in Aaron Donald's one Super Bowl appearance in 2018, falling 13-3 to the New England Patriots. Donald was named the league's top defensive player that season, as well.

Aaron Donald's 2020 season ended disappointingly as injuries severely restricted his contributions in L.A.'s loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in the NFC Wild Card round.

Next season, the Rams will hope to make another Super Bowl run powered by Aaron Donald after seemingly upgrading at the quarterback position by acquiring Matt Stafford from the Detroit Lions in exchange for Jared Goff.

The Rams also hired Raheem Morris to serve as the team's next defensive coordinator.

Aaron Donald, 29, posted 13.5 sacks, 28 QB hits, and 14 tackles for loss this past season.

Super Bowl LVI will be played at SoFi Stadium, the home of the Rams (and Los Angeles Chargers) where Donald accepted his DPOY honor this weekend.
