Todd Gurley has been up and down this season, but on Sunday he played a big role in the Los Angeles Rams' win over the Seattle Seahawks. After the game, Jared Goff was asked about Gurley's increased production and he had nothing but praise talking about how much it opens up the offense.

Against the Seahawks, Gurley rushed 23 times for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also caught four passes out of the backfield.

Goff said that if the team can get Gurley going early, it opens up everything else on the offense and makes his life pretty easy.

“Opens everything, it opens everything,” Goff said in his postgame press conference via Pro Football Talk. “It starts with him and when he’s rolling and we’re rolling in the run-game, it opens up everything. We’re able to do what we want to do — tonight was a perfect example of that.”

Three of the last four games, Gurley has had 20 touches and in those three games, the Rams have won. It could just be an odd coincidence, but the two probably have something to do with each other. On the season, Gurley has caught 177 passes for 721 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Rams' win on Sunday night moved them to 9-5 and kept them alive in the playoff race, but they probably are going to need to win out and then get some help to qualify.

For the Rams to win the next three games, it's going to be important that they continue to feed Todd Gurley to open up the rest of the offense.
