Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters has a calf strain, but he's making significant strides in his recovery. Peters is a two-time Pro Bowler. While it is his first season with the Rams, he's already a leader for their defense.

“He’s doing good,” Rams coach Sean McVay said per NBC Sports on Wednesday. “I think he was sore just like anything else. You continue to come away impressed with just the toughness, what a great competitor he is. I think any time you’re talking about a soft tissue injury, especially from a corner spot, we want to be smart. We’ll probably monitor and kind of just alleviate what his typical workload would be to get him as fresh as possible for Sunday. But he’s feeling good and he’s making strides in the right direction.”

Marcus Peters was selected with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. The eight interceptions he recorded as a rookie tied him for first in the NFL with Reggie Nelson of the Cincinnati Bengals. This feat helped him win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2015.

The Rams are one of two NFL teams that are undefeated. The Chiefs are also 4-0 this year. The Rams will play a divisional game against the 2-2 Seattle Seahawks this weekend. Meanwhile, the Chiefs will take on the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Rams are understaffed at defensive back heading into Week 5, so Peters being available will be huge for them. The Seahawks haven't looked great this year, but the Rams want to ensure they reach 5-0.
