Two days ahead of their NFC wild-card encounter with the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams have officially listed wide receiver Jefferson as questionable for the contest.

At the beginning of the Rams’ practice week, there was no concern regarding the status of Jefferson for Monday, as he was a full participant during the session. However, the second-year wideout appeared to have suffered a setback in the session, as he went on to be a limited participant in practice on both Friday and Saturday due to a shoulder injury.

On Saturday, Rams head coach Sean McVay did issue his vote of confidence that Jefferson will earn the green light to play against the Cardinals.

“He should be good,” McVay said. “He said he was just feeling a little off. We just wanted to check and I think sometimes when you get the clarity from some of the scans, it can kind of just give you that sense of peace.

“He's such a tough competitor.”

Jefferson has been a regular for the Rams in the campaign. The former Florida Gators standout featured in all 17 regular season games, as he hauled in 50 receptions for 802 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns. Even as the team bolstered their wide receiver depth with the signing of Odell Beckham Jr., he has remained a reliable target for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Jefferson saw his snaps vary in the latter stages of the regular season. For one, he played in a season-low 53 percent of snaps on offense in the Week 17 road win over the Baltimore Ravens. Rams head coach Sean McVay later noted that Jefferson’s limited availability in the contest was due to the “flow of the game.”

If Jefferson ends up being ruled out against the Cardinals, rookie wide receiver Ben Skowronek is slated to see an increase in snaps this week. He recorded 11 receptions in 14 regular season games over the campaign.

The Rams are aiming for a second consecutive trip to NFC divisional round.
