Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay spoke out on Monday about their recent trades with the Denver Broncos. The moves left fans of the Rams and the NFL in general confused.

The Rams are having a strong season. But despite this, team officials decided to move some pieces around, possibly affecting the chemistry.

Lindsey Thiry of ESPN reported why the puzzling trades happened:

Rams are sending Kenny Young to the Broncos. Right now, trade doesn't seem to make a ton of sense given Young was most productive LB, leaving only Troy Reeder as only LB with significant defensive snaps this season. Also have Travin Howard and Ernest Jones, but limited D snaps.

Sean McVay says trading Kenny Young gives them some flexibility in spending, whether that means any moves are forthcoming, that's not something he'll get into right now.

Thiry added that sending away Young was “financially driven,” according to McVay. The Rams also felt giving more opportunities to Reeder and Jones would help the squad.

The moves are questionable for the Rams as they are in a win-now situation. They are currently second in the NFC West with a 6-1 record. They will look to add some pieces before the November 2nd trade deadline, moves that they feel will help them win a championship this year.

The Rams will visit the Houston Texans to face off on Sunday as they look for their seventh win of the campaign.
