Much like everyone else, Sean McVay's mind was thrown into chaos after it was revealed that Jalen Ramsey and Tyler Higbee wouldn't be able to suit up in their Monday Night Football showdown against the Arizona Cardinals.

Just hours before the contest, Ramsey and Higbee was placed in the league's COVID-19 list. They were among the 37 total positive tests on Monday, which is the most ever recorded in the NFL in a single day.

Naturally, it came as a shock to the McVay and the Rams, who were just getting ready to play the Cardinals in an all-important game that has massive playoffs implications.

“My initial reaction was, ‘You got to be shitting me,'” McVay said on the Ramsey-Higbee COVID-19 debacle, per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.

Any coach in Sean McVay's position would also be shocked and frustrated. After all, they were up against the best team in the NFL and losing two key players right before the game itself after all the preparations is just too difficult to handle.

Fortunately for McVay, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald and the rest of the Rams stepped up big time to take down the Cardinals. Donald had three sacks in the game, while Stafford threw three touchdowns on an efficient 23-of-30 pass completion rate.

Stafford was sensational on the night, even throwing an insane 52-yard touchdown to Van Jefferson to break the deadlock in the third quarter.

The Rams improved to 9-4 on the season to get closer to the now 10-3 Cardinals for the top spot in the NFC North. Aside from that, they pushed their division rivals down the whole NFC standings to third.

Hopefully, though, McVay gets his full crew back with Jalen Ramsey and Tyler Higbee come Week 15.
