It's every child's favorite goal as one team will advance, and another will go home as the Edmonton Oilers face the Vancouver Canucks on Monday for Game 7 at the Rogers Arena. We're here to share our NHL odds series, make an Oilers-Canucks Game 7 prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Oilers defeated the Canucks 5-1 in Game 6 to force a decisive Game 7. Now, they hope to earn themselves a trip to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in three seasons while the Canucks look to make it back for the first time in a decade.

Dylan Holloway started things off with a beautiful individual effort to open the scoring to make it 1-0 for the Oilers. Then, Nils Highlander found the back of the net to tie the game.

The Oilers got things going in the second period when Zach Hyman came off a loose puck and sent it into the net to give Edmonton the lead. Next, Evan Bouchard came through with a slapper that pinged off the left post and into the net to give the Oilers a 3-1 lead. The Oilers were not done as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins came off a sensational feed from Connor McDavid to make it 4-1. Finally, the Oilers put this thing away when Evander Kane netted a goal to finish the scoring.

Why The Oilers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Oilers finally found their Midas scoring touch, and it was sensational. Amazingly, it all worked out for them because they established puck possession and managed to shoot the puck. The Oilers fired 27 shots and scored five goals despite not converting on the powerplay. Ultimately, it all worked out in Game 6, and they hope to continue that momentum in Game 7.

Leon Draisaitl remains one of the best players in the world. Currently, he is now at eight goals and 15 assists, including six powerplay conversions in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. McDavid remains the best player in the game, coming in with two goals and 19 assists, including one powerplay marker. Now, he hopes to carry the Oilers on his back and lead the charge for a big Game 7 victory on the road.

Bouchard has five goals and 13 assists, including one powerplay tally. Overall, he is keeping opposing defenses on their toes with his powerful slapshot and his ability to quarterback this offense. Nugent-Hopkins has three goals and 11 assists, including one powerplay finish. Ultimately, he is gritty and able to get the job done down in front of the net. Hyman has 10 goals and two assists. Additionally, he has netted four powerplay markers.

The defense had its best game of the postseason, leveling 49 hits and blocking 11 shots. Overall, the defensemen did everything correctly to force the Canucks off its game. Stuart Skinner is 6-3 with a 2.97 goals-against average and a save percentage of .881. Now, the pressure is on him to finish this game off.

The Oilers will cover the spread if McDavid and Draisaitl can skate free and generate some scoring chances. Then, the defense must continue to clamp down and not let the Canucks get any chances.

Why The Canucks Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Canucks managed only 15 shots. Unfortunately, their offense was anemic, and they could not generate many scoring chances. It also did not help that they whiffed on all four powerplay chances. Similarily, they won 52 percent of their faceoffs and still could not generate opportunities.

J.T. Millers has three goals and nine assists in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, he did nothing in Game 6. Brock Boeser has seven goals and five assists. Yet, he also was quiet for the last two games. Elias Lindholm has five goals and four assists. Additionally, he had a quiet Game 6. Quinn Hughes has nine assists. Furthermore, he has been quiet over the past two games.

The Canucks simply were not good on defense. Despite leveling 39 hits and blocking 17 shots, there were simply too many chances for the Oilers to pile on. Edmonton also found too many juicy rebounds. Arthurs Silovs hopes to bounce back after allowing five goals. Currently, he is 2-1 with a 2.02 goals-against average and a save percentage of .898.

The Canucks will cover the spread if they can find ways to get their skill players some scoring chances. Then, they need to play better defense and not allow too many loose rebounds.

Final Oilers-Canucks Game 7 Prediction & Pick

The Oilers destroyed the Canucks in every way in Game 6. Curiously, it was the first blowout of the series, as the first five games were all one-goal affairs. Consider the fact that the Canucks have played significantly better at home in this series and throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs. While the Oilers can steal this game and possibly win on the road, they will not run away with it as they did in Game 6. Ultimately, their experience will prevail, and the Oilers will take Game 7 on the road to advance to the Western Conference Finals. But the Oilers will not cover the spread, as this game will go down to the wire.
