The Toronto Raptors or should I say Tampa Bay (at least for this season) Raptors cannot catch a break. It’s been an underwhelming season so far for the 2019 champions and it even got a little more disappointing on Tuesday. Head coach Nick Nurse mentioned that he has no timetable for the return of Fred VanVleet and Jalen Harris.

This is certainly a huge blow for the Raptors who have struggled all season. They went from being one of the top four teams in the Eastern Conference to a bottom-seeded team in a year. The loss of Kawhi Leonard, Marc Gasol, and Serge Ibaka in the past two years has drastically affected their squad. It also didn't help that they weren’t able to get assets for Kyle Lowry last trade deadline. Lowry is set to become a free agent after this season.

Aside from the rise of Garry Trent Jr., there hasn’t been much to look forward to with the Raptors. VanVleet has been out for weeks due to a strained left hip flexor while Harris continues to deal with a hip injury. Lowry has also been nursing a foot injury throughout the past few weeks. Tough times for the Raptors indeed.

With all these injuries, expect Trent, OG Anunoby, and Pascal Siakam to lead the Raptors in their coming games. They’ve lost seven out of their last 10 games and remain 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. Their next few games will be against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
