The Toronto Raptors are among the teams who have shown interest in signing free agent small forward Markieff Morris, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Morris was waived by the New Orleans Pelicans after the team traded for him from the Washington Wizards. The veteran swingman has been dealing with a lingering neck injury, but he was reportedly cleared to play basketball again after meeting with a neck specialist in Los Angeles on Monday.

Markieff Morris is averaging 11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on the season. He's shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 78.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Morris is a guy who can score in bunches by creating his own shot off the dribble. He has career averages of 11.8 points per game in 555 NBA games. The Raptors acquired All-Star big man Marc Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies at the trade deadline. If they are able to sign Morris next, Toronto has to be considered the biggest winner from the trade deadline.

The Raptors are likely going to have competition to sign Morris. Yahoo Sports reported on Monday that multiple playoff teams are going to try and sign Markieff, including the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers.
