After only playing in nine games last season for the San Antonio SpursKawhi Leonard's health is still a huge concern. The Toronto Raptors took the gamble on Leonard by trading star DeMar DeRozan for him, and according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, are now the team will await the results of his physical.

Here's Windhorst breaking the news this morning:

“There hasn't been a physical yet. Kawhi Leonard has 48 hours, I believe, to report. Then he potentially could have that extended. It's possible that the Raptors would waive the physical here because they are really interested in just getting Kawhi on their roster. Even if that means taking a gamble. That is the next layer of this trade. We think it's done. They had a conversation and cleared it with the league today. The teams put out press releases. Gregg Popovich is having a press conference, but we're not 100 percent sure this is gonna go through, but obviously the Raptors had to vet this. They knew there is a possibility Kawhi might not show up.”

There are still some moving parts to this deal that could cause some chaos. To be specific, both teams have called the league office about this trade and both players have been informed as well. Unfortunately, if Leonard fails to pass his physical, hinting that there may certainly be something wrong with him, the deal could potentially fall though and both stars would head back to their previous respective teams.

In his last full season with the Spurs, Leonard put up 25.5 points (career-high), 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers per game (career-high) on 48.5 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent from beyond the arc.

DeRozan meanwhile, is coming off a season where he averaged 23 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists (career-high), 1.1 steals, and 1.1 three-pointers per game (career-high) on 45.6 percent shooting from the field and 31.2 percent from beyond the arc.
