San Antonio Spurs swingman DeMar DeRozan had more jokes in store for Toronto Raptors star Kyle Lowry when asked about his best friend's play so far this season.

DeRozan — after a quip about Lowry being “terrible”– said he feels the Raptors point guard has only gotten better as he has aged.

Indeed, Lowry is having one of the best seasons of his 14-year career, averaging 20.8 points, 7.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds while playing a league-high 38.4 minutes per game. He has been instrumental in keeping the Raptors afloat amid injuries to the likes of Pascal Siakam and Marc Gasol.

Lowry began his career with the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets, but his career really began to take off when he joined DeRozan in Toronto prior to the 2012-13 season.

The duo helped lead the Raptors to five playoff appearances in six seasons, including a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2016. The two became best friends and viral sensations in the process, repeatedly bombing each others' interviews and talking trash in the locker room.

Unfortunately, they could never quite get over the hump together. The Raptors were routinely defeated by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, a run of losses that ultimately led to Toronto trading DeRozan to the Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard.

Of course, the rest is history. Leonard and Lowry teamed up to win the first championship in franchise history, while DeRozan's Spurs were bounced in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs last season.

Nevertheless, it is clear that Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan have the utmost respect for one another.
