Sixth-year veteran wide receiver Willie Snead IV signed a contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Snead and the Ravens agreed to a one-year, $6 million extension for the 2020 NFL season. Schefter reports the deal is fully guaranteed for the 5-foot-11 wideout.

Snead, a former undrafted free agent who entered the league in 2014, joined Baltimore in April 2018 after the New Orleans Saints failed to match the Ravens' $10 million offer sheet. Snead joined the Saints full time in 2015 after a rookie season bouncing between several teams and landing on the practice squad.

Since then Snead, a Ball State product, has been a dynamite receiver. He recorded a career-best 984 yards with the Saints in 2015. In his brief tenure with the Ravens thus far, Snead has 77 receptions for 874 yards while scoring three touchdowns in 23 games. Feeling confident the 27-year-old is in the franchise's immediate future plans, Snead will return next season as a part of quarterback Lamar Jackson's electric offense and an option in the passing game.

Snead and the Ravens are preparing for an intimidating matchup with the New England Patriots in Week 9, wherein they expect rookie receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to return to the gridiron after missing two straight games along with veteran cornerback Jimmy Smith back in action.

The Patriots are undefeated this season—at 8-0—and surely Snead will be a factor for Jackson targeting receivers. It's been relatively slow for the newly re-signed wideout this season, though, only recording 15 receptions in seven games.
