Dez Bryant hasn't gotten much playing time for the Baltimore Ravens yet, but he's now going to have a chance to earn a role in the offense. With the Ravens needing a big-play weapon at wide receiver, Bryant announced that he's being signed to Baltimore's 53-man roster via his personal Twitter account.

Near the end of October, the Ravens added Bryant to their practice squad in hopes he could produce for them at some point. In recent weeks, he's gone back-and-forth between the practice squad and the active roster.

While he saw only two offensive snaps in Week 9 versus the Indianapolis Colts, Bryant saw an uptick in usage in Week 11. Against the Tennessee Titans, Bryant caught four passes for 28 yards, recording his first statistics since the 2017 season with the Dallas Cowboys.

Given the lack of firepower at the wide receiver position, Baltimore's offense could use Bryant on the outside. Besides Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews, the Ravens don't have many options in the passing game to rely on.

There was once a time in Bryant's career when he was one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL. From 2012-2014, Bryant averaged 91 receptions, 1,311 yards, and scored a total of 41 receiving touchdowns in those three seasons.

Of course, at 32 years old and after a couple of injuries, Bryant is no longer the wide receiver he once was. However, the former first-round pick could become a go-to target for Lamar Jackson in the final stretch of the season. Though, it remains to be seen if the Ravens are able to play the Pittsburgh Steelers given the COVID-19 issues both teams are having.
