The Baltimore Ravens fell short of reaching their ultimate goal in 2019, losing to the No. 6 seed Tennessee Titans in the divisional round. After being defeated by the Titans, John Harbaugh says that Baltimore needs to learn' how to be a tough opponent“

In a conference call on Thursday, Harbaugh shared how the Ravens can use last season's playoff loss as a learning experience for the future:

You start something, you need to finish it, and we didn’t finish it yet. . . . You learn by living these things,” Harbaugh said, via Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic.com. “I expect our guys to learn from that and understand what it takes to beat an opponent that is determined to beat you and make a statement.”

Heading into the postseason, the Ravens believed they were on top of the world. During the regular season, Baltimore cruised past their opponents, accumulating a franchise-best 14-2 record. As a result, the Ravens secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

At the same time, Lamar Jackson was the NFL's MVP and Baltimore's defense was finding their groove. Nevertheless, after having a bye week in the Wild Card Round, the Ravens were stunned at home versus the Titans.

Despite posting an impressive record in 2019, Baltimore lacked postseason experience on the roster, especially with Jackson in just his second year in the NFL. Following the loss to Tennessee, some began to question if Jackson and the Ravens could perform well under pressure.

Some teams would let the loss to the Titans or any No. 6 seed get to them and let it affect their play the following season. However, Harbaugh is confident that his squad will rise up to the challenge and use last year's defeat as a stepping stone to where they want to be.
