Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson exited late in the third quarter during Wednesday's duel with the Cleveland Browns. Many thought that he'll be out for good, but in a dramatic fashion, Jackson came back and guided his team to a 47-42 victory.

While some say he faked the injury, Jackson explained that his cramp was real, even roasting Boston Celtics icon Paul Pierce to explain his side.

After the game, Jackson cited the infamous Pierce “wheelchair injury” to explain what really happened. Peep the clip below via the Ravens' Twitter.

To recall, in Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals, Pierce fell down under the basket midway through the third quarter. The Truth stayed on the floor, favoring his leg and grimacing in pain. Pierce was so hurt that his teammates had to carry him to a wheelchair.

Celtics fans thought that Pierce suffered a serious injury and would be out for the game and perhaps even the series.

However, in a strange turn of events, Pierce returned at the five-minute mark of the same quarter. Given this bizarre incident coupled with the fact that no one knows what actually happened, many concluded that Pierce faked the injury. This incident became the subject of many memes to lambast Pierce's antics.

Even though Pierce explained what “really” happened that night 11 years later, it's so deeply embedded in everyone's consciousness that even Lamar Jackson used it to explain his own case with the Ravens.

Fortunately for Jackson and the Ravens, they can just laugh off the incident after pulling off a 47-42 win against the Browns. Had they lost, it will certainly be a different story.
