It didn't take long for Lamar Jackson to beat Michael Vick's single-season rushing record for a quarterback, which Vick previously set in 2006 with the Atlanta Falcons. On the Baltimore Ravens' first offensive drive of “Thursday Night Football,” the 22-year-old tallied four rushes for 27 yards, breaking the record of 1,039 yards by four.

Before the game, Vick was excited for Jackson to break his record eventually, and his reaction as it happened was pretty great.

Vick also offered more congratulations to Jackson:

Vick wants Jackson to have that record, but he doesn't him to break all of his. Said the retired former dual-threat dynamo:

“Congratulations on breaking the record. I know all records are made to be broken, but I didn't know that it would happen in less than twelve years. You are a blessed individual, you are a great player and I wish nothing but the best for you. And, keep chasing all of those records, keep chasing the record books and great things are ahead for you and I'm looking forward to following your career. It's going to be a stellar one. Just keep your head down, keep working and don't break all of my records!”

Jackson needed just 13 games and one drive to break the record. No longer is it about owning. He is shattering it, only to set up the next challenger with a tougher task — or, perhaps, himself next season.

A former Heisman Trophy winner, Jackson is well on his way to winning the MVP award in his second year in the NFL. It's fair to say he's not done breaking records.
