The NFL aspires to conduct their regular season as scheduled, but Orlando Brown of the Baltimore Ravens is hopeful that the season isn't forced. When asked about the current situation, Brown admitted fear over returning to football amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“I am a little scared,” Browns said during a conference call with the team’s beat writers, via Childs Walker of the Baltimore Sun. “It’s a serious situation.”

It was announced on Wednesday night that Brian Allen of the Los Angeles Rams tested positive for the coronavirus. At the time, before Von Miller recently tested positive, Allen was the first active NFL player to be discovered with the disease. That led Brown to discuss Allen's positive test and how he thinks the NFL should handle everything moving forward.

“That’s tough,” Brown said of Allen and before news of Miller’s positive test. “I don’t think the NFL and the Ravens organization are going to put us in a bad position. If things aren’t ready, they’re not ready. I don’t think it’s going to be forced. I don’t think you can force it. With this disease being so deadly and so many people losing their lives, from all ages and races, it’s something that I don’t think it’s going to be taken lightly.”

The 2020 NFL season isn't scheduled to kick off until September 10. Even though that is a few months away, the NFL has already begun discussing contingency plans. One idea that's been considered is having a shortened regular season.

Depending on the progress that's made in the coming months, the NFL will have to make a decision on what to do in the regular season. Regardless of what they choose to do, Brown hopes the league takes into account the safety of the players — and rightfully so.
