Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen is the first active NFL payer to test positive for coronavirus, per Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

According to Glazer, Allen tested positive for the dreaded virus three weeks ago. In a second testing early last week, the second-year Rams backup tested positive again.

Furthermore, Allen reportedly “lost all smell and taste” to the point that couldn't even smell an ammonia smelling-salt. He also suffered from flu, which is one of the main symptoms of the disease.

Fortunately for the Rams, he was able to recover and is now symptom-free. Allen is now expecting to be cleared within the week.

On the other hand, in response to Allen's coronavirus positive test, the Rams decided to “close their facility weeks ago to injured players.” However, they are now set to re-open it next week.

It is still unknown if other Rams players tested positive for COVID-19.

The coronavirus hit the US in the NFL's offseason, so the spread of the virus among players were largely prevented unlike in the NBA, whose season is still ongoing before it was put into a halt after Utah Jazz center tested positive for the disease.

However, the NFL has still been impacted by the pandemic, particularly training and the much-awaited 2020 NFL Draft. The draft was supposed to be held in Las Vegas, but it has since been moved to remote locations — with teams set to draft virtually.
