Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is under contract with the team through the end of next season, but in spite of that, there has been talk he could be coaching elsewhere in 2019.

Of course, given the fact that Harbaugh is under contract, a change would require the Ravens to either fire Harbaugh or trade him elsewhere, and Harbaugh wants no part of the latter scenario, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It makes plenty of sense.

Why would Harbaugh want to weaken a potential team to which he gets traded?

Of course, all of this will likely be moot, anyway. The Ravens have said that they support Harbaugh and want him in Baltimore for next year and the following season, but the fact that the two sides have not agreed to an extension yet is a bit concerning.

Harbaugh is in his 11th season as coach of the Ravens. Over that time, he has gone 104-72, leading Baltimore to a Super Bowl title during the 2012-13 campaign and taking the team to the playoffs seven times overall, including three AFC North division titles.

The Ravens are back in the playoffs this year after a three-year hiatus, the longest absence from the postseason since 1999.

Baltimore got off to a 4-5 start this season, but rallied to win six of its last seven games, slipping up only in an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14. The Ravens not only proceeded to make the playoffs, but they also won the AFC North.

Baltimore will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round on Sunday afternoon.
