After seeing both Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos depart, Real Madrid suddenly has a stable enough financial situation to make a run at PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is yet to sign an extension with the French giants.

According to 90min, Los Blancos are looking to secure a deal for Mbappe in the coming weeks, which could see him become the highest-earning player in world football. It was reported last week that Real Madrid was offloading Varane and Ramos in order to free up finances for Mbappe and that very well looks to be the case.

PSG meanwhile doesn't want to lose their prized possession on a free transfer next summer, but Los Blancos do realize they may have to wait until 2022 to get a deal done. However, they would likely face a lot more competition for the France international.

Mbappe has refused to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes and has always been interested in joining Real Madrid, which is seen as a dream move. PSG is rating him at 150 million pounds amid these links with the La Liga standouts, but they're apparently willing to pay Mbappe around 1 million pounds per week in order to bring him to the Spanish capital.

After PSG signed the likes of Gigi Wijnaldum, Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, they will be poised to keep Mbappe this season with Champions League glory a serious possibility. But, nevertheless, Real Madrid will do everything in their power to lure him away from Paris in the next month.
