According to some Red Dead Leaks, a Red Dead Remake is in the works, alongside the Red Dead Redemption 2 Next-Gen Upgrade.

As reported by IGN, French video game journalist Chris Klippel, founder and moderator of Rockstar Mag, has confirmed that a Red Dead Redemption 2 Next-Gen version has been in the works for the past several months. Klippel further claims that RDR 2's next-gen version was supposed to come out a bit earlier, probably last year. The only reason this didn't happen was that Rockstar was busy with another major project – which, he says, is a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption.
Klippel says that while Rockstar is currently working on the next-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Red Dead Redemption Remake, the two games will probably not come out at the same time, and will most probably not be packaged in a single collection.
Red Dead Redemption originally came out in 2010 and Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018. With the original's twelve-year anniversary nearing and RDR2's fourth anniversary, players are hopeful that Rockstar has something big lined up for the series. Red Dead Online continues to be a polarizing game for fans, as many still find Rockstar's preferential treatment of GTA Online over RDO controversial. Announcing either of these two will surely help lift the spirits of die-hard Red Dead Redemption fans, and will help tide the wait until the next Red Dead Redemption game comes out, whenever that would be.
