The Boston Red Sox had a special guest in the house at Fenway Park for their clash against the Houston Astros on Monday. Steve Aoki was in town and had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch. Well, it's safe to say he hadn't given this a practice run before, as when push came to shove, Aoki airmailed the ball about 30 feet over the head of his catcher. The entire crowd roared in a mix of laughter and shock as the errant throw was truly something to behold, and something Aoki will likely want to forget ever happened.

Aoki walked up to the mound and did a rather excessive and bizarre wind-up. It was in those moments that Red Sox fans probably came to the realization that the popular music artist is not cut out for the life of a big-league baseball player. Aoki's throw looked as if it was coming from a center fielder looking to gun a runner out at the plate, rather than the celebratory opening pitch at the Red Sox game.

It's truly impressive how vastly Aoki miscalculated the trajectory of this throw. The only logical explanation is that he's used to the weight of the cakes he throws at his concert, and somehow anticipated throwing a baseball would require the same amount of effort.

Hopefully, he's not too embarrassed by the whole ordeal and can just laugh it off. We've seen our fair share of disastrous first pitches, with 50 Cent immediately springing to mind, among others, and now Steve Aoki will take his place in baseball history for his antics at the Red Sox game.
