The Washington Redskins have quite a few problems, but Trent Williams might be the biggest. The star left tackle hasn't reported to camp, and won't unless he gets a new contract. Williams is by far the best player on the roster, and playing without him isn't easy. Just ask Adrian Peterson.

“Since Day One of camp you notice his absence is impacting us tremendously, you go from not having to worry about the blind-side at all, to having to chip on that side, add a tight end there which changes what you do. I think it’s making Dwayne Haskins have to think more, not process things as calmly. Matter of fact, I think it’s impacting all of our quarterbacks. Guys are coming off the edge in practice right there on the quarterback and the running back. It’s been a struggle.” Said Peterson, according to ESPN via Pro Football Talk.

While the Redskins aren't supposed to be anywhere near the playoffs this year, this is still a significant loss. As Peterson said, life would be a lot easier for rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins if Williams was playing. The offensive line had been the strength of the team for a couple of years, but now it's pretty clearly a weakness. To give a better idea of the unit's level of play, the legendarily bad Ereck Flowers is slated to start at left guard.

Although this seems like an awful situation for the Redskins, it will help them with one thing. Getting a better draft pick. Hopefully, Washington can work out the contract dispute with Williams, and he'll be back on the field soon.
