The Washington Redskins will have a new face making decisions in the front office in 2020. Ahead of the Redskins' game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, it was announced that Bruce Allen will be relieved of his football operation duties by Monday.

Allen has been with the Redskins' organization since 2010 when he became the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the franchise. Back in 2014, Allen was promoted to President and saw his role in the front office increase.

Over the years, Allen has built a close relationship with owner Dan Snyder. Therefore, the team is expected to give Allen a choice of resigning or retiring as a sign of respect. Following his decision, the longtime executive is slated to maintain an unknown role with the organization.

Since Allen joined the Redskins, the team has only made two appearances in the playoffs. In addition, Washington has combined for a 62-96-1 record. Above all, the Redskins will be hiring their third different coach since the 2010 season following the end of this year.

Provided that, it's time for the Redskins to bring in a fresh mind in 2020. It's probably been time for them to move on from Allen for a few years now. But better late than never.

Of course, earlier this season, Washington fired Jay Gruden as head coach after five-and-a-half years with the team. Ever since he was fired, the team has allowed Bill Callahan to be the interim coach.

Callahan likely won't land the job in 2020 and could be on his way out depending on who is brought in. Regardless of who it is, the Redskins are going to look a bit different in the front office and on the coaching staff in 2020.
