Even before playing his first NFL game, rookie Chase Young is already garnering high praise from his new Washington Redskins head coach Ron Rivera

Rivera recently held a Q&A with military families and Redskins fans. During the event, someone asked the new washington head coach if “there’s another Darrell Green out there.” Per Ben Standig of The Athletic, Rivera responded: “We have a pretty good one in Chase Young. As far as being a Darrell Green at his position, he's got a chance.”

Green, of course, is one of the best Redskins players in franchise history. He was drafted 28th overall in 1983 and played a whopping 19 seasons with the franchise before retiring at age 42. That staggering longevity helped Green become Washington's all-time leader in Approximate Value at 148, per Pro Football Reference.

The legendary cornerback won two Super Bowls in Washington and was named to seven Pro Bowls, including one in 1997 when he was already 37 years old. Green accrued an impressive 54 interceptions across his lengthy career, which is also No.1 in Redskins history and No. 21 in NFL history.

Of course, the Redskins hope that 2020 No. 2 overall pick Chase Young will also stick in Washington for his entire career after a striking three-year tenure at Ohio State. Young is a terrifying pass rusher, and he currently sits in the top 20 in NCAA history in sacks (30.5, No.19 all-time).
