Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has dealt with concussion issues during his career. After his latest one on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons, Jay Gruden isn't willing to comment on the long-term health of the former third-round pick.

Reed is in the concussion protocol after a helmet-to-helmet hit from Keanu Neal that will probably result in a fine of some kind:

Before this concussion, Reed already had six documented concussions, and it wouldn't be surprising if there have been some undocumented ones.

Jay Gruden was asked if this would be a long-term injury, based on how many concussions Reed has had, and the Redskins coach didn't want to go down that road:

With all the increased awareness the last few years surrounding CTE, there have to be some questions about how much longer Reed wants to keep doing this.

This past weekend, Andrew Luck decided to hang up the cleats to better preserve his long-term health, and it wouldn't be shocking if Reed decided to head down that same path.

If Reed does continue to stay in the league, there is no doubt the team is going to take it slow with him, which means Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles could be up in the air.
