Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman may have taken a bit of a step back over the last few years, but don't tell that to him.

Norman still thinks he is one of the best cornerbacks in the league, going as far to say that he is at the top of the list.

“I don't know man, I'm at the top,” Norman said on WFNZ on Friday. “I always said that. Nothing has ever changed that ever since I stepped foot in this league. What I've done, everything that I do speaks for itself.”

The 31-year-old was originally asked about Redskins head coach Jay Gruden saying that Norman is now underrated, to which Norman replied by saying he doesn't give that stuff much thought.

“I really don't know,” said Norman. Whatever Jay says is kind of what Jay says, I don't really know. That's a good question to ask me because I don't even think about it too much really.”

Norman is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played all 16 games and finished with 64 tackles, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and nine passes defended.

The Redskins signed Norman to a five-year, $75 million contract back in 2016, but he has not lived up to the deal and, as a result, some in Washington have wondered whether or not the Redskins should simply cut ties with the defensive back.

Norman spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers, and in 2015, he made the Pro Bowl while also earning a First-Team All-Pro selection.
