Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins was among those to take part in a workout with free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown this offseason. Naturally, this has led to some speculation regarding the team's potential interest in bringing Brown aboard.

According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports, head coach Ron Rivera feels the team must first examine the current players at their disposal before making a decision on Brown:

Ron Rivera says the Redskins need to look at the young players on the roster before looking to add veterans to the roster. Specifically about Antonio Brown, Rivera said he wants to see what the Redskins have at WR first before any decisions get made.

The fact that Rivera did not shoot down the notion of signing Brown altogether indicates that there could very well be some interest. Of course, it is hardly surprising to see that Washington is in no rush to make it happen until they have a better understanding of their personnel.

The restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has come with its own set of challenges, especially for new coaches that still have yet to get properly acquainted with the entirety of their roster. As a result, it seems Rivera is not looking to make headlines by signing Brown until he knows full well that the positives can potentially outweigh the negatives.

There is no question that a player of Brown's caliber would add an immediate boost to the offense. Regardless, Rivera is still intrigued by what the young receiving corps of Terry McLaurin, Steven Sims and Kelvin Harmon.

Wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden is also among the members of this group that consists of players that are 24 years old or younger.
