Colt McCoy will have someone to throw to in his 2019 debut as Washington Redskins starting quarterback. Rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin is expected to play in Week 5 vs. the New England Patriots, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

McLaurin is dealing with a hamstring injury that took him out of Washington's Week 4 loss to the New York Giants. Though expected to play, nothing is definite until he completes pre-game workouts to the satisfaction of Washington's training and coaching staff.

A former Ohio State Buckeye and third-round selection, McLaurin has been a pleasant surprise for Washington, who sits at 0-4. Through three weeks of play, the speed merchant has 16 receptions for 257 yards and three scores to his name. He’s the only wide receiver in NFL history to have at least five receptions and a touchdown in their first three NFL games.

The Washington offense struggled to gain traction without McLaurin in Week 4, as Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins combined for 144 passing yards and four interceptions while leading an offense that scored three points. Their leading receivers were a running back (Chris Thompson – four receptions for 56 yards) and a tight end (Jeremy Sprinkle – one reception for 20 yards).

In related Washington injury news, tight end Vernon Davis (concussion), tight end Jordan Reed (concussion), guard Brandon Scherff (ankle) and linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons (hamstring) are all out for Sunday's game.

Quarterback Case Keenum (foot), cornerback Josh Norman (hamstring) and center Chase Roullier (knee) are all questionable heading into Week 5.

Washington's competition, the Patriots, are 4-0 entering the game.
