According to a recent report from Jenna Laine of ESPN, the Washington Redskins will be adding to the team's defense ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Laine is reporting that the Redskins will be signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass rusher Noah Spence on Wednesday.

While Spence apparently had other suitors, it appears as though the Redskins have ultimately come out on top in terms of landing the up-and-comers services. In addition to the Redskins, both the Bears and Buffalo Bills expressed interest in Spence while the former Buccaneers pass rusher actually worked out for both teams over the course of the last few weeks.

Spence worked out for the Redskins just last week.

“Source tells me that the Redskins are planning to sign former Bucs outside linebacker Noah Spence tomorrow,” writes Laine. “Spence worked out for them last week. He also worked out for the Bears today, along with the Bills two weeks ago.”

Despite only being a few seasons into his NFL career, Spence was previously waived by the Buccaneers prior to the start of the 2019-20 regular season as part of the team's final 53-man roster cuts. Originally an early second-round pick back in 2016, Spence went on to spend just three seasons in Tampa Bay and registered a mere 6.5 sacks atop the highest level — 5.5 of which came during his rookie season.

The Redskins are currently a winless 0-2 and have already lost to a pair of NFC East foes in the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, respectively.
