In his illustrious Hall of Fame career, Reggie Miller spent all 18 years in the league with the Indiana Pacers never truly entertaining the thought of leaving the organization.

However, the Pacers' latest superstar in All-Star forward Paul George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night. In light of that move, it saddened Miller to see George leave Indiana.

In this day and age in the NBA, there is more of a willingness from the superstars in the league to leave their original team in order to increase their chances of winning a championship. In turn, there is less of an emphasis on the loyalty perspective of the situation from the player if the organization isn't putting forth the effort to build a winner around them.

George had voiced to the Pacers that he wanted to play in Indiana as long as the team made an effort to bring in more help around him. The front office instead didn't make any moves at the trade deadline to show the 27-year-old that they were all in.

At the same time, the Pacers' roster outside of George and Myles Turner didn't have much appeal around the league to make moves. Ultimately, it's a situation that was going to unfold the way it did.
