Former first-round pick Jared Cunningham will reportedly work out for the Houston Rockets this week, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears.

Cunningham, 28, last appeared in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks, appearing in four games during the 2015-16 season after signing a 10-day contract before turning into a free agent.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard was selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2012 draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers out of Oregon State before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks on draft night. Cunningham only competed in eight contests for the Mavs, however, being a frequent player for the G League affiliate Texas Legends before finding himself traded in June 2013 to the Atlanta Hawks.

Cunningham cemented his NBA journeyman status when he would play for four franchises in the span of three seasons. He was waived by the Hawks, then signed a 10-day deal with the Sacramento Kings, then signed with the Los Angeles Clippers before being traded to and waived by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Cunningham was a part of the three-team Cleveland Cavaliers deal that brought Channing Frye to the eventual 2016 champs, where the former Beavers product was waived by the Orlando Magic. Cunningham saw his last opportunity thereafter signing with the Bucks.

Since then, Cunningham has played overseas in China, Germany, and most recently in Italy. He competed in 2018-19 with Basket Brescia Leonessa. Cunningham posted 13.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in 18 league appearances for Brescia Leonessa, shooting 37.8% from the floor, 29.9% from 3-point range, and 75.5% from the free throw line.
