The spotlight has been on superstar guard James Harden of the Houston Rockets this season. His antics at a private event when maskless surfaced on social media along with the constant trade rumors that have surrounded not only Harden but the entire team have potentially affected the Rockets' performance so far.

Starting the season 3-4, the Rockets have been finding it difficult to return to the high level of play that they displayed last season. Players such as John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins had to sit out earlier in the season due to COVID-19 exposure, preventing them to find a groove from the get-go.

However, Harden believes that it is a matter of time before the Rockets find the chemistry for which they have been looking. This is what Harden had to say about the Rockets as a team, via Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic:

“We got a lot of work to do. I think every team feels that way…We just haven't had the opportunity to work together very often. As long as we continue to find chemistry, to find pace on both ends of the floor, we got a chance to do something special.”

The NBA has seen what Wall and Cousins are capable of when at their best. Though injuries have sidelined them for the majority of the past few seasons, they are ready to help the Rockets compete in the Western Conference. When paired with a focused Harden, this team has the potential to score north of 110 points consistently.

Though Harden's name was tossed around in a potential trade to the Miami Heat, the Rockets will have to take it one game at a time if they want to earn a spot in the playoffs.
