Some things never change. For Russell Westbrook of the Houston Rockets, the feeling that he's still at home whenever he's in Oklahoma City is still there, a callback to his days with the Thunder.

The Houston Rockets guard was asked about the feeling of being back to the only team he's known before this season. The mood was quite somber, but he definitely made some Thunder fans tear up with his declaration that it still felt like home to him.

Erik Horne for the Athletic recorded the interview and posted it for fans to see.

It was definitely strange to see Westbrook in the Thunder press room and not be playing for them. Before this year, he gave his heart and soul to the team. He was the last of the Thunder's big three to leave: his teammate James Harden was traded to Houston while Kevin Durant left for the Bay Area after their exit in the 2016 Western Conference Finals.

They tried getting back to the NBA Finals with Westbrook and Paul George, but what was supposed to be a title run became a rebuild when George left to join Kawhi Leonard at the Clippers. With no place left to go, Westbrook was traded to Houston to jumpstart the Oklahoma rebuild.

Russell Westbrook has playing great basketball with the Rockets, averaging 24.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists every game. He had a fantastic game in his return to OKC as well, posting an impressive stat line of 34 points, two rebounds, and five assists on 54% shooting from the field.

Unfortunately for Russell Westbrook, the Rockets didn't get the win as James Harden was kept quiet with his 17 points while the rest of the Thunder played excellent defense on the rest of the team.
