Last Sunday, the French National Basketball Team booked themselves a ticket to the Rio Olympics as they won their Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila, Philippines. This will be their 19th appearance in the Summer Games.

Aside from qualifying, things are looking even better now for France as  Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has tweeted his decision and suit up for his country.

He sat out the qualifying tournament to rest his injured ankle and that proved to be a good decision on his end as his team dominated the competition even without him. The Philippines, New Zealand, Turkey and Canada, who they beat in the finals, all bowed down to Les Bleus.

The Stifle Tower averaged 9.1 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks last season and will be expected to man the paint and lead the team on the defensive end.

There are three other Jazz players that will be participating in Rio, newly acquired forward Boris Diaw (France), Joe Ingles (Australia), and Raul Neto (Brazil).
