Ken Crawley will officially be back with the New Orleans Saints in 2019. The cornerback signed his restricted free agent tender today, according to Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk.com.

The Saints gave Crawley an original-round tender, so he'll make $2.03 million in 2019. Crawley originally entered the league in 2016 as an undrafted free agent, and has been with the Saints ever since. A Colorado product, Crawley wasn't drafted due to a lack of production in college but he's been able to carve out a role in the league.

Crawley made the team as a rookie, and has been on the roster ever since. He's started off and on, and played a big role last year, logging 39.7 percent of the team's defensive snaps in 2018. Last season he played in ten games and started five, racking up 31 tackles and six passes defended.

His most significant action came in 2017, when he started 13 games. He had 54 tackles, 17 passes defended, and an interception. Ideally, Crawley won't be counted on to start next season and will be merely a depth option. The Saints have done a good job upgrading their secondary in recent years, and the unit is no longer a complete liability like it once was.

For what it's worth, Crawley received poor grades from Pro Football Focus for his work last season. The Saints are looking to make another Super Bowl run after last season ended in heartbreaking fashion in the NFC Championship Game.
