The New Orleans Saints have been set at quarterback for the past decade and a half. With future Hall of Famer Drew Brees at the helm, the Saints have had top-notch quarterback play to carry them on offense.

With last year's backup QB Teddy Bridgewater signing with the Carolina Panthers this offseason, Brees likely entering his final season and do-it-all star Taysom Hill a bit of a wildcard, the Saints are reportedly looking to bring another quarterback into the fold.

“We’ll look at all means relative to where that player can come from,” New Orleans head coach Sean Payton said, via the team’s website. “We’re not specifically saying that has to be a player that comes through the draft. We’re not saying it has to be a veteran player. It’ll be the best available player that we feel like fits our program.”

The desire to bring in a third quarterback likely has to do with Brees being 41 years old and with the way the team uses Hill as a receiver, tight end, special teams ace as well as quarterback, a third option seems necessary in case Brees goes down with an injury like he did last season.

In the same vein, the Saints are one of the six teams to have a video conference with Utah State quarterback Jordan Love. The polarizing prospect is expected to be a first-round selection in April, according to many experts.

And despite the desire to bring in another quarterback, Payton and the Saints organization reportedly have full confidence in Hill's ability to be a starting quarterback in the NFL once Brees retires.
